Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest Launches LatinTech Pitch 2022

Start-Up Competition for Hispanic Heritage Month

Texas based start-up competition seeks to promote Hispanic innovators, and award $30,000 worth of prizes to the top three winners.

The Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest based in Houston Texas has
launched a Start-Up Competition with local innovation partners, the Ion, the Latinx Startup Alliance,
and the Texas Business Association, aimed at elevating and empowering tech entrepreneurs in the
Hispanic Community.

The Israeli Consulate to the Southwest initiates projects and hosts events annually to honor the vibrant and dynamic role that the Hispanic Community plays in our region, and celebrates the years of friendship by acknowledging the growing importance of Latino Americans in Texas and their profound impact. As this community continues to grow, it is an important mission to connect and engage; building on the shared values between Israel and Hispanic Americans.

This year, Israel celebrates its 75th Independence Day, and the Consulate will be highlighting the 75
years of bilateral relations between the United States and Israel. So, for this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month the Consulate, in tandem with tech innovation and business leaders, will be hosting a start-up competition for the opportunity to win prizes, provide top level exposure, and networking opportunities with leaders in the innovation ecosystem.

According to Consul General Livia Link-Raviv, “The best way to celebrate and cultivate this relationship is by highlighting innovation. We would like to share our passion and knowhow in the high tech sector to engage and promote success with the developing Hispanic startup scene in Texas.

We are excited to see how our partnership can bring more Latino led innovation in our region.”

Applicants will have the opportunity to compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with prizes including $30,000, recognition from the Israeli government, a yearlong subscription to the work management software company Monday.com, as well as qualify for a six-month hands-on mentorship with a
successful Israeli start-up company.
