What is Pride in Local Music?

Pride in Local Music is a full-scale outdoor live music and creative festival event celebrating the rainbow heartbeat of our town, known for our live music scene.

During the third annual event, enjoy local food, beverage, and music while lounging at the H-E-B Terrace at the Long Center! What better way to enjoy all the beauty of Austin than at Lady Bird Lake watching local Queer artists including Tje Austin, Bleached Roses, Pelvis Wrestley, BabiBoi, and Julie Nolen.

“There is no better city than Austin to take the lead in celebrating and supporting Queer music and musicians. With two successful years of virtual events under our belts we’re excited to go live and bring the entire community together for an amazing day of music on the lawn at the Long Center.”

History of Pride in Local Music

The Pride in Local Music event started at the onset of the covid pandemic when the world shut down.We knew that we needed to support our creative economy in Austin. We reached out to our sister music city of Nashville and partnered with the Nashville LGBT Chamber to produce the first Pride in Local Music streaming event. We did it again in 2021 as a hybrid event.

Supporting The Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce Education Fund

A portion of proceeds of all ticket sales goes to support the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce Education Fund. The mission of the Education Fund is to invest in the education, job training, and career opportunities of a diverse group of LGBT+ individuals who have the capacity and vision to be prominent business leaders working to create a better world for all.
