May 5, 2022 was officially proclaimed “Y’all Means All” day in Austin by Mayor Steve Adler and the City of Austin.
The City Council chambers at Austin City Hall were filled with supporters for Thursday’s proclamation. The proclamation was issued by Council Member José “Chito” Vela.

“This is a day for celebration for the LGBTQ communities’ indispensable contributions to our culture and society and for all those that have fought for equality and inclusion,” Council Member Vela said.
“Today, we reaffirm that Austin is a community of love, kindness and acceptance,” he added.
Steve Markel and Colton Ashabranner from the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce attended the proclamation. Representatives from Austin Police Department’s Lesbian and Gay Peace Officers Association, aGLIFF, Austin Queer Asians, Austin Pride Foundation, Austin LGBT Coalition on Aging, PFLAG Austin, Kind Clinic, Qwell Community Foundation, TGQ Social, and the Austin Gay Men’s Chorus were also in attendance.
